- How long does it take to paint or draw a portrait?
-
For paintings, it can take anywhere from 1-3 months (on average,) depending on the size and complexity of the portrait. This is due to the traditional layering techniques I use and the detail that goes into each piece.
For drawings, it can take anywhere from one to five weeks depending on the size and complexity of the portrait. The amount of detail is still present, but the time it takes to create it is less than a painting because the layering in a drawing is less complicated.
- Do you work from photos or from life?
-
I usually work from photos to avoid having my customer inconvenienced by posing live, which would take several hours per day for several weeks. I prefer to take my own reference photos, which allows me to obtain the best lighting possible, achieve better composition, and attain more accurate color.
If you prefer, I can work from your photos provided they are not protected by copyright.
- What payment methods can I use?
-
I accept cash, checks, most major credit cards, and PayPal.
As is customary, a 40%, non-refundable deposit is due upon commissioning.
